don't cry; don't wither, installation, 2007

day 1

day2

day5

This is an interactive art work. The Chinese character that had been dug on the ground is ”’ that means “love”. Viewers who want to interact with the work should grab a withered flower and stick it into the area of the Chinese character “”. This work is about ceremonial behavior of people. I noticed that people used some ceremonial behaviors to end some emotions, especially sorrow or sadness.  When the word “” had been covered all over wither flowers, I collected them and buried them in the ground of the word “”. The whole process from digging the word to burying all the flowers into the earth completed my whole art work.
